BIOGRAPHY

For the wikipedia entry on the band the Beauvilles ..... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beauvilles
"Raised in a southern Pentecostal Church that encouraged speaking in tongues, and becoming possessed by spirits; band leader and songwriter Shawn Kyle appears to have backslid into this particular pastiche of sweaty, confessional rock and roll music. He sounds as if he lives and dies with every word and note that the band performs. "
-the Times, Whispering Sin LP Review
What originated as a house band for underground warehouse art parties in sweaty swampy Florida has become one of the Southeast's most recognized independent D.I.Y touring artists. Known for their incendiary and inspired live shows and led by a singer-guitarist evocative of dead 70's icons, the Beauvilles have travelled far and wide across the 48 states, playing hundreds of shows, dozens of festivals, throwing guitars haphazardly across stages, tossing wine at audiences and whisky on themselves.
In regional and national touring, the group has acted as support for a cross section of independent artists; Deertick, the Warlocks, the Drive By Truckers, the Growlers, Soundtrack of Our Lives, the Black Angels, Okkervil River, the Porcupine Tree, Bright Light Social Hour, John Langford (Mekons / Waco Bros., actually used the Beaus as a backup band during a memorable SXSW), the Electric Six, Jon Doe (of X), Exene Cervenka, Castanets, Alejandro Escovedo, the Whigs, Dead Confederate, Centro-Matic. Recent festival dates have included the band sharing stages with the National, Broken Social Scene, Girl Talk, and many other acts of note.
"A must see artist..."
- Creative Loafing Magazine (Chicago, Tampa, Atlanta, Charlotte),
"It is good to hear new music that has the same sort of sincerity and life in it as the scene that I was involved with."
- Tony Michalides of Factory Records and former PR person for David Bowie and Joy Division, author of "Inside the Engine Room".
